In Memory of...I will never forget the last time I saw Pat. I was out at Cowboys and incredibly drunk and fighting with my future wife. Pat was trying to get my attention, but I was so caught up in my little world that he had to physically grab my arm and shout my name. I turned around and scowled at him and then I see that It's Pat with this real big smile. It'd been a while since I'd seen him last and I felt terrible that I snapped at him, but I was too proud to change my demeanor. We talked briefly and I went back to my sulking.

A few months later, Pat was gone, and I immediately thought of that night, and of all the things I wished I had said. That is one night I wish I had back.

In Memory of...It's odd and kind of sad the way life works.

We lived in Maplewood until 1978. Up to that time my two best friends were Will Atherton (my next door neighbor) and Danny Comeaux. I have lots and lots of great childhood memories about the fun that we had as kids.

After we moved, we kept in touch and I'd spend the night at his house, or he'd come spend the night at our house, but we kind of lost touch over the course of middle school. By the time High School came, we reconnected and hung out a little bit, but it was different. We were older and life was more complicated (oh, the worries of a high school freshman!!)

The other day when I scanned in those images of our 1978 yearbook, I was taken by surprise by the emotion that I felt when I saw Danny's picture. That's the Danny I'll always remember.
