    Flashback
Sulphur High School Class of 1989

What do you think of when you think back on the 1980s... Big hair? Brat Pack movies? Heavy metal bands? New wave music from Great Britain? Madonna? Duran Duran?...

Whatever it is... I'm sure we would all agree with each other that the 1980s were just a lot of fun -- or at least a bit humorous to live through. I found a wealth of info about the 1980s on Wikipedia -- and eventually I will turn this page into a more interactive site where we can all contritbute our individual memories, favorite music, movies, and cultural artifacts of OUR decade.

Ferris : The question isn't "What are we going to do?", the question is "What aren't we going to do?"

    1980s Theme Party Idea...

Recently some friends of mine held a surprise birthday party for one of the group. The theme of the party was "1980s". We all had a blast dressing up for the party -- but the best part was the music and background video that the host had playing all night. She has an extensive 80s music collection and had the television showing 80s movies (with audio muted). Some of the stuff playing that evening included a Brat Pack movie collection, which is a collection that includes Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, and Wierd Science.

If I were going to throw a 1980s party, I'd include all of the above PLUS the following other 80s movies -- Some Kind of Wonderful, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Pretty in Pink, Top Gun, Better Off Dead, Say Anything, St. Elmo's Fire and Risky Business. I'd probably also decorate with movie posters like this Breakfast Club movie poster if I could find them.
